James A. Donald
From Satoshipedia, the Satoshi Mail encyclopedia
James A. Donald took part in the Cryptography mailing list. Two days after Satoshi posted the white paper he wrote the first public reply: “We very, very much need such a system, but the way I understand your proposal, it does not seem to scale to the required size.” (the thread). Satoshi's answers in that thread are some of his earliest explanations of how Bitcoin would scale.
Donald was also copied on Satoshi's November 2008 pre-release source code, along with Hal Finney and Ray Dillinger.
