Cryptography mailing list
From Satoshipedia, the Satoshi Mail encyclopedia
The Cryptography mailing list, hosted at metzdowd.com, is the list Satoshi used to announce the white paper on 31 October 2008 and v0.1 on 8 January 2009.
The white-paper thread is the first public discussion of Bitcoin. Members including James A. Donald, Ray Dillinger and Hal Finney debated its scalability, its incentives and its defence against attack, and Satoshi answered at length (the thread). It is under the Cryptography label in Satoshi Mail (open the label).
